Fees
What advice typically costs here
Prices below are guidance for common engagements. Your written quote may differ when documents are incomplete, multiple overseas pots are involved, or urgent deadlines compress the timetable. No payment checkout runs on this site.
| Engagement | Typical basis | Guidance from |
|---|---|---|
| Retirement income planning (flagship) | Fixed advice fee for discovery, planning meeting, and written plan | £2,400 |
| Workplace pension review | Fixed fee for one consultation and written summary | £650 |
| Investment portfolio consultation | Fixed project fee across two meetings | £1,100 |
| Business owner financial advice | Project fee after complimentary scoping call | £1,800 |
| Inheritance & family wealth conversation | Fixed consultation fee (optional second session quoted separately) | £750 |
| Implementation support | Hourly, only if you ask us to complete provider forms after advice | £180 / hour |
What influences the final quote
- Number of pension schemes and whether valuations arrive complete
- Whether a spouse or business partner joins and needs separate fact-find time
- Defined benefit transfers or safeguarded benefits that require extra research
- Travel beyond our usual Scottish office days, if you request an on-site visit
Ongoing annual reviews, where agreed, are quoted as a separate retainer after the initial plan — not as a software-style subscription. Many clients return only when a life event changes the plan.
When we do not charge
The initial twenty-minute scoping call is complimentary. It exists to confirm fit, not to deliver regulated advice. If we cannot help, we say so on that call.
Deposits and timing
For projects above £1,000 we may request a booking deposit to reserve planning time. Deposit and refund rules are set out on our refunds page.
